BIOGRAPHY

INDWE is not Rokia Troare, Carmen Souza, nor is she Chiwoniso or Oumou Sangare but her social construct

and the context which dictates her lyrical content and social enquiry, makes these leading female artists her

equal counterparts.

Already proving to be a sensation within the circles of opulent African sounds, since her album debuted in

November 2013, INDWE has been nominated three times at the 13th Metro FM Music Awards in the

categories Best Urban Jazz, Best New-comer and Best Female Artist.

Her indigenous instruments and how she interlaces her vocals throughout what seems to be a complex web of

jazz interpretation and accompaniment makes her the most vocally explosive artist with soulful intent, this

country has produced in recent history.

Skillfully, INDWE has brought meaning to her music in a way that demands several things to the listener:

first, by letting her compositions speak to us and secondly, by revealing to us that music is pure magic and a

wonderful gift to humanity that soothes us, stimulates and moves us to a world of complete imagination.
